Wessex Community Assets has members who have been involved on local food production and distribution for many years.

Industrial production methods and high land prices/low food prices have caused problems- we know that fuel-dependent farming is going to become difficult, food-miles unaffordable and yet locally produced food is difficult to achieve. Poor diet affects future generations and sovereign wealth funds are being used to buy up farmland.

Community Supported Agriculture projects and allotments can be part of the solution but there is also a need for education.

Communities are working to address these issues and our expertise and experience can help.
